Veloped User Guide

Trionic Veloped

The Veloped has a unique 3-wheel design, but as you can see it has in fact four wheels. It’s aimed to be used as a walking aid, especially for people with the desire to be physically active outdoors. Developed with a focus on walking and facilitating access for the user, the Veloped is one of a kind. Its main characteristic is a dual front wheel with the capacity to overcome obstacles up to 15 cm high (14" wheels). The force required to overcome a smaller obstacle is also greatly reduced, when compared to a traditional wheel.

The Veloped is tested and approved according to the international standard ISO-11199-2:2005, for a maximum user weight of 150 kg.

Safety

  • Both brakes should be locked in parking mode before you use the seat.
  • Before you start walking with the Veloped, make sure it’s completely unfolded.
  • Be extra careful in steep terrain and on slanting ground.
  • The stability of the Veloped is tested with a basket load of 5 kg. If you load additional weight to the basket, make sure to distribute the weight evenly in the basket.

Correct Grip Height

How to set the correct height of your Veloped

Many rollator users set the grips too high, thinking that it will promote a more upright posture. But this actually worsens the posture, and it affects the stability negatively.

You can determine the correct Veloped grip height by doing as follows, as recommended by all physiotherapists and all rollator manufacturers:

  1. Stand upright with your back as straight as possible, with your shoes on and with your arms hanging in a relaxed state along your body (elbow slightly bent).
  2. Measure the vertical distance from the floor to the wrist bone = recommended grip height.

With the grips at wrist height:

  • You do not have to raise your shoulders, and you can unload a greater part of your body weight.
  • You can walk closer to the hand grips, which results in a more upright body posture.
  • A more vertical weight distribution (downwards) improves both the stability and the brake performance.

First Time Use

I am so thankful for my Veloped which has transformed my walking enormously.
I am so thankful for my Veloped which has transformed my walking enormously. Having suffered from balance issues for the past year walking has been extremely difficult and frustrating; even a variety of sticks didn’t help very much. I am truly amazed at how I can now walk much further with less stress and feel so much more enjoyment. The engineering and design are so well thought out; and, of course, it looks pretty good too. I very much appreciate your helpful advice in helping me decide on which model, and am reassured that you will be there in the future should I need you again.

I'm extremely happy with the Sport Rollator. I use it for roller skating near our canal, and it works great. I haven't roller skated in 10 years and have the rollator as a safety feature for support.
And the device doesn't look like a piece of equipment for the elderly.
Caro
I love my Veloped because I go out a lot with my dogs
I love my veloped because I go out a lot with my dogs, they can sit in it, the two are older and sometimes they don't want to walk anymore, then they can sit in it, I attached a basket with tension straps to the seat, the second dog can sit in it and we go out a lot, even in the forest! I would buy one again and again!

Yes, there are many people I've gotten to know just because we roll around in snow and slush.
With a neurological injury that causes shaky legs, I bought a Trionic Sport a few years ago.
With it, I take my dog out for two hours every day. The walker is stable and safe.
Perhaps it is most effective in the winter. With good shoes, I can get around almost anywhere. It doesn't matter if it's slippery. My dog and I usually glide faster than people who don't have this aid.
Since it's unusual to see a dog and a walker/rollator owner, lots of neighbors shovel the sidewalk in front of their houses. And people say hello and wave; "I'll probably buy one of those walkers when I'm as old as you."

Yes, there are many people I've gotten to know just because we roll around in snow and slush.
Thank you for the Trionic Veloped !

I have had my Veloped Sport since mid April of this year and it has been fantastic! The ordering and delivery service was easy and quick and, when it arrived, we were immediately impressed with the design, construction and way in which it comes apart to transport it. Every time I use it I am stopped by passers by who are always equally impressed. The Veloped Sport has allowed me to continue to walk in places which would otherwise be inaccessible. I have HSP which affects my lower limbs and also my eyesight but I am determined to get out and about. Thank you, the Veloped has given me new found confidence and freedom.

Veloped Sport Review
VELOPED SPORT REVIEW
In operation this machine is good and ideal for my purpose which is getting out on local woodland paths and tracks
However - I am not at all happy in other ways
- -
-
the brakes are difficult to manage - especially if I wish to have a short rest on the seat, when the brakes are particularly important
I find transportation very difficult. I don’t always have help available and the awkward shape makes it difficult to get in and out of my car and and yes I can take the wheels off, not always easy, particularly if they happen to be muddy or, as often happens, covered in ‘sheep-shit!
the fact that it cannot be locked in the closed position makes it very difficult when manoeuvering it in and out of the car as it tends to ease open - usually at a crucial point.
I think that is all. In summary good in operation but a few design faults in the preparation for transport.
But certainly not worth the very expensive price tag as it is not really a significant improvement on my old faithful walker which cost £250 and pops into the car no problem.
Marina Langer
Very satisfied
I already had the previous model, which lasted more than 10 years and was used constantly.
The new one is just as perfect for me and allows me to go for walks with my dog as well as work.

Major benefits over rough ground
My Veloped Sport has had major benefits above & beyond my old standard rollator. Walking out in woods with the dogs no need to steer around rough areas, just push & go.
Walking over my horse's field is easier, doesn't get stuck in rough ground & Chris (horse) enjoys rubbing his face on 'Axcel'.
Fiona Shaw
Fantastic
I bought this as I have mobility issues and the rollator I currently have is totally unsuitable for uneven ground. I find it so much easier to use and have received many remarks about it.

Excellent Product
I purchased this Trionic Veloped Sport 14er with the hope that I can take my husband for some walks that can improve his mobility due to having suffered a stroke and balance issues. Yes, it has succeeded my expectation.

Normally he uses double walking sticks outdoor. It wouldn’t be safe if we wanted to walk by beach or countryside trail.

Now by using Veloped he can walk a bit far on countryside trail. When getting tired he can sit on the seat while still enjoy the beautiful views. It's so good to see my husband being more active because of the Veloped. We look forward to walking by his favourite beach when English weather gets better.

The customer service is excellent too. They provide an upgrade seat free of charge to make sure my husband is happy and feel safer of using the seat.

Great Shutterbug Tool
Since turning 72, it was getting extremely difficult to attend air shows, races and take nature walks with my photo gear. I bought the Veloped so I could put a large camera bag in the front basket and have a place to sit when I got in position. It has worked very well, and I’m sure the benefits will compound as time marches on.

I’m sure other new owners like me experience a learning curve with use, and for me, it was the brakes. Unfortunately, I went to the bike shop, and $30.00 later, I was worse off than when I started but with help and guidance from the Trionic people, I was able to understand the process and complete the adjustments myself. The process is spelled out adequately in the instructions, and I’m mechanically inclined, but like most humans, we tend to overthink and complicate the simplest of things. Don’t panic; take a deep breath and email support if you need to. They are there for you and more than willing to help.

Great service, fast delivery and a tremendous life changing product.
I bought this after being introduced to it by a friend who had bought one. We both have MS and I have found the Veloped to be life-changing for me. I am more confident when walking both on and off road and I feel that I am getting a small amount of my independence back.

Thank you Trionic for developing this product and best wishes for the future of your company.

PERFECT
Perfect, because you can walk upright and avoid walking with a bent back. The back improves the more you walk.
A tip: When folding the Veloped, there should be a latch that keeps the frame locked in a folded state.
Missing holes to put a nameplate in the frame.

The Veloped is the best walking aid you could have
It was a lucky shot that I found the Veloped online, I fell for it immediately. The Veloped gives the best support you could imagine, it is much better than both walking canes and crutches, you can relax when you’re walking, it rolls very easily and is easy to handle, also in crammed spaces.
It is easy to fold, and takes up only a small, like during transport.
I have now named my Veloped "Theodor my friend".
I can with all my conviction recommend the Veloped to anyone who'd need one.

Flat tires
Great for active exercise, but it keeps getting flats. Have had to replace three tubes because of shallow thorns. Now I am ordering solid 14-inch tires since I do not need the extra cushion of tube-type tires. I hope Trionic starts offering solid tires, it beats pushing it back with flat tires.

Veloped Sport
Very pleased with the Veloped Sport; it copes brilliantly with the rough paths and the autumn leaves in the local park.

I can enjoy the outdoors again
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2012 and my balance and mobility are now at the stage where I feel much safer walking with a rollator. I have a fleet of them! One for airport use (really), one for city sidewalk use and now 2 for outdoor use. I bought the Veloped because my earlier outdoor rollator still caused me to stumble in uneven territory. I liked the 3-point design, which I find easier to handle, but I was absolutely blown away by the front wheel set up which enables me to travel over deep ruts, tree roots, stairs and some really rough roads. I have my freedom back. THANK YOU

A good purchase
I have had my Veloped since Christmas 2021. I unpacked it and assembled it by myself. Since then, I've walked many kilometres through the forest, over hills and valleys. If it doesn't rain, I walk 4-5 km every day without fatigue and without stopping and I hope to be able to do more in spring. Here in Vechta everyone admires my Veloped, both the other hikers and the golfers on the golf course next to the forest. The first Veloped in Vechta: but, given the interest, it will probably not remain the only one. By the way, I'm a 91-year-old woman.

Veloped Sport 14er M
This walker has given me back the joy of living. I can now walk long distances independently and without assistance.

The sporty aspect of the walker is also always a topic of conversation.

It is extraordinary that you can walk well with an upright posture and without having a crooked back. I am really happy.

Sincerely, Elisabeth Busch

Thrilled with my new friend Vince The Veloped!
Living with MS (comparatively mild but slowly progressing) I have poor balance, and varying degrees of leg weakness and fatigue – the Veloped is the answer to all these issues, and I couldn’t be more delighted.
Within days of delivery (all going 100% smoothly) it came on a coach trip to Northumbria: on and off the coach luggage compartment, over tree-rooted woodland paths, up and down the steep cobbled path to Lindisfarne castle – all brilliant. In our home city of Lichfield, I can now go quickly, confidently and QUIETLY over our many different road/path surfaces and uneven kerbs, making walking a pleasure once again – Thank you Trionic. The Veloped attracts much interest, as you warned me to expect, and I direct them all to the Trionic website!

Really good for my posture
Overall, extremely happy with my Veloped Sport! It has helped me get back out to off-road locations which is extremely helpful and has improved my quality of life. It is easy to use, and the position of the handles and seat mean it's really good for my posture, something I don't experience with my on-road, lightweight walker I use day to day.

The only two things I would improve:
1. There are two settings for the front wheel, and the "off-road" setting can make steering on a path a bit difficult as it just wants to go straight ahead.
2. I haven't found a way of securing it when it is folded – I have needed to fold it to get it on and off trains, and the velcro has a tendency to undo while it is moving, so I might buy some bungee cords for this purpose.

Now, if only someone could invent an amazing off-road walker that could *also* convert to a transport chair, that's all my bases covered!

Suggestion
Good morning,
I am very happy to write to you. As you know my wife sees only 5% per eye and, after the initial difficulties, now she gets along very well with her walker. Sure, someone always must be there, but that has nothing to do with this great product. As a suggestion, the handles could be a little longer, so one can be able to stand up alone, which is now not possible for a person with neuropathy on feet and hands. Also, it would be very helpful if there was a way to lift and move the Veloped forward with your foot. But I know that for some reason it is not possible to add a pedal. I could then imagine a ball that could be fixed under the frame. My wife would not see it anyway, but, like many other things, when she doesn't see the solution, she develops her own technique. The Veloped also has the right weight so that I can lift it and load it into my Alhambra without having to take off the front wheels, if one knows how to do it. When you learn the trick, it is also very easy to fold the Veloped and the seat is really well designed. Despite poor eyesight, even my wife can do it alone. Really fantastic! I see it as when one builds a house: the second house would get done differently, but this does not mean that it has been done badly, and only thanks to the customers’ suggestions one can implement something new. Yes, the price is a bit high, but it's worth it; it is simply not a cheap product that hits supermarket shelves. Thanks for your great product. I hope that you will always accept the suggestions from sick people or from health workers because walking is a topic that needs to be addressed more. Unfortunately, we, healthy people, do not always see their concerns. I am already advertising for you and I will be happy to give away some flyers too, if you send me some, because I did not find them on the internet quickly, as you are not that well known yet.

Thanks, regards, Ralf Herold

Pure relief!
I am the kind of person who likes to read reviews, but rarely gives any. But this time I want to share my enthusiasm with others. Due to my MS illness, I am pretty much dependent on a walking aid. So far, I have been using my walking sticks. Since we have a small vegetable garden, I find that two sticks are even more disabling at gardening - how can you be able to carry something properly? While looking for an off-road walker, I came across the Veloped. I was already imagining what it would be like and what relief it would bring me. And I have to say that the Veloped meets my expectations at 110%. It's an indescribable relief - I love it. I must add that the first time I tried it in the house. Since we have a barrier-free house and I have been using my walking sticks more and more indoors, I was immediately enthusiastic, and my partner was also surprised at which speed I directly started. The bottom line is that I am now the owner of two Velopeds, a Veloped Sport for indoors (it's a real luxury, but women don't indulge in anything else) and a Veloped Tour for outdoors. I was able to acquire the second one almost as good as new on the platform willhaben.at.

I sympathized with the Trionic brand for a long time, and now when I've got one, I'm an enthusiastic Veloped fan; running is fun again despite being overweight and lazy!

Field report after one year of use
The advert and description in the brochure is 100% true. Nothing is exaggerated. Disadvantageous or not optimal are the tyres. The air escapes too fast. A severely handicapped person will then usually find it very difficult, because a petrol station etc., is not always nearby. Here, at the company. use should be made of better quality tubes. That should be included in this purchase price.

Super Walker!
Dream device! I get everywhere with this Walker. Obstacles are no problem! It is not exactly inexpensive, but I would buy it again.

Really good
Very good, accurate and quick responses over chat, always very friendly, fast delivery, clear and punctual. all accessories were mounted on the Veloped, all you had to do was put on the tires. The Veloped is just great, my daughter has a lot better quality in her life right now! It's just so "cool", the Veloped!

Anxiety followed by satisfaction
Was concerned that it was a big commitment to enter blind but in the event it turned out well.
